Riverina on alert for hail, severe thunderstorms | The Daily Advertiser

A severe thunderstorm could bring heavy rain and large hail to parts of the Riverina on Wednesday. The Bureau of Meteorology issued a severe thunderstorm warning for the region around 3.15pm, putting communities in a narrow strip of the state on alert. Wagga is just outside the western edge of the warning area, while Junee, Young, Tumbarumba and Khancoban could be directly affected as storms move into the area. “Severe thunderstorms may produce large hailstones and heavy rainfall that could lead to flash flooding in the warning area over the next several hours,” the BoM said in its alert.
