Progress with Parkinson’s disease care in regional Australia

  • April is designated as Parkinson’s Awareness Month and
    World Parkinson’s Day is on Sunday 11 April
  • Charles Sturt University research and advocacy on
    Parkinson’s disease is positively impacting regional communities
    including Broken Hill, Coonamble, Bathurst and
    Mudgee, and in the future Tamworth
  • Parkinson’s disease is a chronic, neurodegenerative and
    incurable neurological condition, with prevalence higher in rural areas and
    increasing with age

A Charles Sturt University clinician-academic reports that with World Parkinson’s Day on Sunday 11 April, projects she has contributed to are having a positive impact for people with Parkinson’s disease in rural and regional Australia.
