Drivers are being warned to stay in their cars along the Snowy Mountains Highway near Adelong, where a truck crash led to a toxic spill on Monday night. Tumut Police acting inspector Matt Fowler said the B-double was carrying 20 kilograms of sodium sulfate when it rolled just west of the township. He warned the chemical could prove toxic if breathed in. “It is not explosive and not flammable, but it is toxic,” Inspector Fowler said. “We’re waiting for a repair to be done to the truck this morning for it to be safely towed from the scene.” IN OTHER NEWS: A small quantity of the sodium sulfate leaked from the truck into an adjacent field, and hazmat crews will be on the scene in…
